Its current work focuses on research into combining scheduling, channel prediction and beam management in 5G system access layer with deep learning techniques. Its goal is to significantly improve the performance and efficiency of wireless communication networks at a lower cost by introducing data-driven and algorithm-driven AI technologies.

  • ST

The Standardization Technology Department has been deeply involved in the field of 3GPP standardization for many years. It has substantial technical experience and brilliant achievements from 4G LTE to 5G NR. DBL participated in the standardization meeting for the first time in 2006 and has contributed proposals. Henceforth, the Standardization team has continued to grow. It has been more deeply involved in the standardization work of 3GPP RAN1 since LTE Release 10, and has also contributed numerous proposals.
It has made outstanding contributions to the successful completion of the 5G Rel-15/16 standardization by deploying 5G NR in advance, thus establishing DOCOMO’s leading position among telecommunications operators. In the 5G NR research, the Department is involved in standardization tasks such as mmWave, NR MIMO, URLLC/IIoT, IAB, channel coding, scheduling and controls, flexible duplex, NOMA, cellular vehicle networking as well as drones. With the dawn of the 5G Evolution, the Department is actively working towards the continued consolidation of core technologies on key topics of the 5G network future evolution.
The Standardization Technology Department has always been committed to promoting beneficial technologies and views for networks and users to be in line with international standards. It has also actively supported the development of commercial networks at the headquarters. It has hundreds of international patents and essential patents for standardization in the above-mentioned sectors.
